Broomfield, Colorado - October 1, 2009
ENCRYPTX Corporation (a BeCompliant Company), a leading provider of data security and policy based device control solutions for removable storage devices, today announced a new version of DeviceDefender™, the industry leading device removable device control, management and encryption solution for any type of removable drives or media used with a computer or server. An updated DeviceDefender Administrative Management console is also available with multiple new features and security improvements.
"DeviceDefender 3.2 adds automatic removable device enrollment, and verification against organization usage policies," stated David Duncan, President of ENCRYPTX. "DeviceDefender 3.2 detects any type of removable storage device used with a PC or computer add verifies that the device can be used in the organization. Fine grain usage controls allow the administrators to automatically authorize certain types or manufacturer devices to be used, block devices that are not allowed to be used, set devices, such as iPods to Read Only mode, or to ignore certain devices that have their own security features, such as hardware encrypted USB flash drives. We have also greatly expanded the device and event tracking features for removable devices controlled and protected by DeviceDefender to improve Administrator forensics analysis and device and data audit tracking."
"In response to requests from our enterprise and government customers, we have also developed a new version of our DeviceDefender™ Administrative Server, which allows help desks, security officers and IT administrators to provide support for, define policies for, and track and manage USB drives used throughout the organization. These new features include multiple administrator roles (e.g. help desk, IT, security officer), support for DOD Common Access Card (CAC) card drive authentication tracking, a device white list which includes the ability to set policies for which USB drives can be used in the organization, which are blocked, which are ignored and which are read only, and a number of usability improvements for the management interface."
DeviceDefender™ 3.2 with the new DeviceDefender Administrative Server management console is available now. List price for a single license of DeviceDefender is $29.95 per PC. The DeviceDefender Administrative Management Console is available for a license fee of $1000.00 with a one time charge of $5.00 per managed user. Quantity and government discounts are available.
